Public administration can be simply described as implantation of the policies formed by the government. It is also a field of study that deals with this implementation and it is way to prepare administrative officers for dealing with the public administration. The set of policies and principles framed by the government are put in to practice by public administration officers. It involves detailed analysis of the entire process of how the government makes the decision, the process which leads to that decision making and the various processes and methods that are needed for making alternative policies in case it is required.

After graduation one can also pursue post graduation that is M.A in public administration. Further studies can comprise of a doctoral degree in public administration.The job prospects for public administration students are many. They can both work with government bodies as well non government organizations.

A deep understanding of government policies and the implementation of those policies in public sector is mandatory. This requires thorough study of various government documents and strong analytical ability. A genuine desire to do welfare of citizens is required. Also a strong and valid opinion on various acts of government is also required. For those who want to pursue public administration a systematic approach towards studies is always important. The aspirant has to be willing to work with proficiency in various government workings.
