Combined Defence Services Exam 2015

Just recently, a notification regarding the Combined Defense Services Exam 2015 has been issued on the UPSC website. The Examination Notice number 02/2015-CDS-I for the year 2015 is a chance for all the CDS Aspirants to get into the various positions in the Combined Defense Services. The notice date dated 8th November is the application which sees the last date as the 5th December. This Combined Defence Service Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 15th February 2015 and aims to recruit Candidates for admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy.

Number of Vacancies in the Notifications

The number of Vacancies in the notifications is as follows:
Total Number of Vacancies: 464 Posts
1. Indian Military Academy: 200 Posts
2. Indian Naval Academy: 45 Posts
3. Air Force Academy: 32 Posts
4. Officers Training Academy(Men): 175 Posts
5. Officers Training Academy (Women): 12 Posts

Eligibility Criteria of the Candidates

The Eligibility Criteria of the Candidates required are as follows:
For I.M.A and Officers Training Academy, the Candidates are required to posses the Degree of a recognized University or equivalent
For the Candidates targeting the Indian Naval Academy, Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution is the necessary requirement for all the candidates.
For the Air Force Academy, the candidates should be having the Degree of a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering

Age Criteria of the Candidates

The Candidates required having the following age Criteria as per the three branches of the CDS.
For I.M.A: The male candidates should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1992 and not later than 1st January 1997 only.
For Indian Naval Academy: The male candidates should not be born earlier than 2nd January 1992 and not later than 1st January 1997.
For Air Force Academy: The age limit of the candidates is 20-24 years.

Registration Steps

The process of the Application can be completed in two stages. The part 1 is the Registration stage, where the Candidates have to complete the process of filling the Application, while the 2nd Stage is the stage of the Payment.

Part 1 of the Application Process

The Part 1 of the Application process involves the filling of the basic information of the Candidates. When the Candidate completes the submission of details, they will be urged to check the details and make correction, if any, in the application. After they feel they have completed the Form without any errors and all the details fed by them are correct, Candidates may press “I agree” button. After pressing the Button no change in the information can be done. So just think twice before pressing the button ‘I Agree’. When “I agree” button is being pressed, a page with Registration No. will be generated. It is advised that all the candidates note down this registration number or take a print out of the page.

Part 2 of the Application Process

The Next Stage is the part 2 of the Application Process
Part 2 of the registration process contains three steps:-
1. Fee payment
2. Examination center has to be chosen from the available drop down menu.
3. Uploading of photograph and signature

The Scanned photograph should be in JPG format. It is to notify that the digital size of image file must be less that 40 kb and greater than 3 kb and resolution should be 140 pixel heights by 110 pixel widths and Bit Depth of image file should be 24 bit.

Candidates can pay application fee through online by using SBI net banking or even can adopt cash Payment through SBI bank Challan or through credit card/debit card. To pay fee in cash, candidates should take printout of Challan generated online after completion of registration and should be going to nearest SBI branch for depositing fee. But just remember that this should be done after 24 hours of submission of online form. Those who want to pay online through SBI portal can go directly after submission of form.

On successful completion of your complete application, an auto-generated email will be sent on your registered email-id. In case email is not received by you please ensure that submission of Part 2 of the Application has been completed by you.
