Detailed Information on Exams conducted by SSC

The SSC is one of the busiest organizations in the field of the examination conduct process. The SSC holds the responsibility of various examinations for the entry into various government sectors at various levels. They are known to conduct various examinations throughout the year.

The exams conducted by SSC are as follows:

1. Multi-Tasking (Non-Tech) Staff Exam
2. Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Exam
3. Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) Exam
4. Recruitment of SI in CAPFs, ASI in CISF and SI in Delhi Police Exam
5. Junior Hindi Translator in Subordinate Offices Exam
6. Stenographer Grade C&D Exam
7. Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Exam
8. Junior Translator (CSOLS) /Junior Hindi Translators Exam
9. Food Corporation of India Exam

These are the exams which are conducted by the SSC each year. Among these exams the most highlighted exams are the Exams for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2), Food Corporation of India and Combined Graduate Level Examinations. These are three exams which grab the attention of the maximum candidates in the country.

Discussing the schedule of all these exams, we can notify them as follows:

1) Multi-Tasking (Non-Tech) Staff Exam-

This Exam is the one which is being held in the month of the February of the year. The notification of the application form arrives in the media in the month of September each previous year.

2) Combined Graduate Level (Tier-I) Exam-

The notification of this one of the biggest examinations in terms of the candidates appearing comes in the month of January while the exam is conducted in the month of April. However the exams see the long process as this exam is being conducted in different tiers with the Tier 1 Conducted in the month of April and the shortlisted candidates appear in the Tier 2 exams in the month of August. However, for the past two years, have seen several controversies in the form of Paper leakage and cheating at various examination centers.

3) Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical) Exam-

This exam is for the purpose of the Civil and Electrical Engineering students and is conducted each year in the month of May. The notification for these exams comes in the month of February.

4) Recruitment of SI in CAPFs, ASI in CISF and SI in Delhi Police Exam-

When we talk about this exam, the notification for the application forms comes in the month of March while the exams are being conducted each year in the month of June and September with the Paper1 and Paper 2 held on these dates respectively.

5) Junior Hindi Translator in Subordinate Offices Exam-

The exam is being held in the month of June and the notification comes in the month of April as with the case of the Recruitment of SI.

6) Stenographer Grade C&D Exam-

This exam is one which is being conducted in the month of September and see the notification in the month of May.

7) Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Exam-

One of the most popular exams in the SSC Section, the exams are one of the golden opportunities to get into the government sectors. Even as the recruitment in the government sectors is done into the clerical level, i.e. as LDC (Lower Divisional Clerk) or as DEO (Data Entry Operator), the exams see the huge population appear. The notification of this exam is being published in the month of July and August while the exam is being conducted each year in the month of December. The complete procedure sees the typing test as a part of the selection process which is done after the short listing of the candidate through the test.

8) Junior Translator (CSOLS) /Junior Hindi Translators Exam-

The December is the month of the conduct of the examination while the notification of the exam comes in the month of August.

9) Food Corporation of India Exam-

On the behalf of the FCI, the SSC brings the notifications for the conduct of the exams and filling up of the posts in this government sector. Usually the exam of the FCI is being scheduled in the month of November or December while the notification comes in the month of September. This exam also requires two stages for the completion along with the computer typing test. For the technical group there may be an additional technical paper involved in the examination of the selection process.

The SSC also publishes its calendar for the entire year, which gives some insights over the conduct of the examination on the dates either they may be tentative. The SSC is one of the examining body which paves the way for the candidates into various governmental jobs.
