Educational Eligibility Criteria of various exams conducted by IBPS
IBPS, the examining body which is responsible for the conduct of various examinations throughout the country, holds around 5 exams each year.
This Article is related to the discussion of the educational Eligibility Criteria for these exams.
1) Common written Examination for Clerks-
When we talk about this examination, the minimum eligibility criteria are the graduation or the degree in any discipline from any university recognized by the Govt. of India or any other equivalent degree as recognized by the central Government. The Computer literacy is mandatory to apply for this exam. The working and operating knowledge of the computer is needed for the entry to these posts. Even, the proficiency in the local language is needed too.
2) Common written examination for PO/MT-
Just like the CWE for Clerks, the minimum eligibility Criteria for the examination is the degree from any University recognized by the Govt. of India or any equivalent degree as recognized by the Government at the centre level. The candidate must possess valid Mark-Sheet or Degree Certificate at the time of registration and require indicating the percentage of marks obtained while the registering option.
3) Common Written Examinations for Specialist Officer-
The Candidates intending to apply for the Specialist officers post shall require to have the different degrees for the different posts as described below:
a. IT Officers Scale 1-
To apply for the posts of IT Officers, one must possess 4 years Engineering Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Tele-Communication, Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Instrumentation. The candidates may also possess a Post Graduate Degree in the above fields. At the same time, the candidates possessing Graduate degree having passed DOEACC ‘B’ Level.
b. IT Officers Scale 2-
The same qualification is needed as in the case of IT Officers Scale 1 but with the exception of 2 years of minimum experience in IT field is needed for the scale 2.
c. Agricultural Field Officer-
The candidates having the 4 year degree in the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Dairy Science, Agriculture Engineering, Fishery Science, Pisciculture, Agri-Marketing and Cooperation, Cooperation and Banking or Agro-Forestry are eligible to apply for the posts of Agricultural Field Officer.
d. Law Officers Scale 1-
The Candidates having a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council are eligible to apply for the posts of Law Officers.
e. Law Officers Scale 2-
The A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) is the minimum requirement for these posts. The minimum 3 years experience of practice at Bar or Judicial service and/or 2 years as a Law Officer in the Legal Dept. of a Scheduled Commercial Bank or the Central/ State Government or of a Public Sector Undertaking and candidates should produce a certificate of having the requisite post qualification work experience from the Court or Bar council or organization.
f. Rajbhasha Adhikari-
The Minimum Educational Eligibility required for the posts is that the candidates should possess a Post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree (graduation) level or Post graduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree level or at the graduation level.
g. HR Personnel Officer-
The minimum requirement for this post is the Graduation and Full time Post Graduation degree or Full time Post Graduation diploma in Personnel Management or Industrial Relations or HR or Social Work or Labour Law.
h. Marketing Officer-
The Candidates must possess Graduate Degree and Full time MBA (Marketing) or Full time 2 years PGDBA or PGDBM with specialization in Marketing degree.
i. Chartered Accountant Scale 2-
The candidates must have Passed final examination for Chartered Accountants to be eligible to apply for the Posts of Chartered Accountant Scale 2.
4) Common written Examination for RRB Officers-
For the posts of RRB Officers, the minimum eligibility criteria required is the degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent. However, proficiency in the local language is a must. The preference will be given to the candidates possessing a degree in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary Science, Agriculture Engineering, Pisciculture, Agriculture Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
5) Common written Examination for Office Assistants-
For the Office Assistants in RRB, the minimum Eligibility Criteria required is that the candidates must possess Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent. However, the proficiency in the local language is a must requirement.
